The Opportunity to Make a Difference:

The role will need to engage with internal stakeholders to identify the relevant business activities and priorities that require support from the financial accounting services team and work in an agile and responsive manner to appropriately support these business activities. 

This role will be responsible for critical reporting to support the Purchasing Services Team and Senior Financial Accountant.


A day in the life of WVA’s Purchasing Services Analyst includes:

This role exists to support the Senior Financial Accountant with managing and allocating transaction processing including: recording purchase orders, purchasing compliance monitoring and reporting and invoicing database. 

The team is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial administration of vendor maintenance request forms and invoices (IPOS and invoicing database); telegraphic transfers, pre-approvals, settlement advices and journals. 

The role is responsible for identifying critical detection controls of purchasing processes and is responsible for vendor and purchasing reporting on a monthly basis. 

This role must demonstrate a service focus and approach processes and practices with a continuous improvement mindset.  

This role must work collaboratively with members across the team and business in order to enable the team to become highly effective and productive.


Who are you?

  • CA/ CPA qualification
  • Tertiary qualification in Finance or Business discipline or similar
  • Knowledge of Business, Banking or Process Management disciplines
  • Proven experience in working independently and demonstrated experienced in prioritising work from multiple sources
  • Proven experience in the use of best practice customer service, and quality assurance techniques 
  • Proven experience in facilitating continuous improvement activities
  • Experience in agile environment of task allocation
  • Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to interact at all levels within the organisation and with external parties
  • Intermediate / Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Exel and PowerPoint
