The Opportunity to Make a Difference:

The Project Manager provides comprehensive project management services, utilising best practice adaptive and iterative methodologies, to support the effective implementation of technology-related projects, in alignment with Departmental strategic plans.


A day in the life of WVA’s IT Project Manager includes:

This role is required to provide oversight and leadership of a team of Project Personnel (directly), and other Key Project Personnel (indirectly) in the implementation of the Technology’s investment streams of work.

This role will ensure direct engagement with the business, adhering to World Vision’s project management standards and governance frameworks, and contribute to achieving World Vision’s business objectives through balancing a short-term delivery focus with longer term objectives.

The Project Manager works closely with the CIO and the Head of IT Operations to:

  • prioritise all elements of work;
  • report project progress, risks & issues;
  • assess and advise timelines and impacts of new work as it arises;
  • ensure delivery of all elements of work on time and within agreed budget and scope.


Who are you?

  • Tertiary qualified – Degree-level business / computer science / engineering / software qualifications
  • Qualification or accreditation in program/project management methodologies (eg. AIPM, PMI, PMBOK, Prince2, Diploma of PM, Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, MSP, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC principles, including Waterfall and Agile methodologies 
  • Proven and extensive experience leading teams in solution delivery / software development / project / resource management
  • Outsourcing / engaging external service delivery providers, contract management
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to a dynamic environment, solving problems and ensuring stakeholders are part of the solution
  • Excellent stakeholder management - proven ability to manage passionate stakeholders and engage key business owners at all levels

This role is a 12 months fixed-term contract operating in a full-time capacity and will be based at our head office in Burwood East, Victoria.
