The Opportunity to Make a Difference:

The Business Intelligence Data & Reporting Analyst is accountable for ensuring the provision of performance reports and dashboards to the business. 

These reports and dashboard tools will provide a measure of performance against key indicators and benchmarks set by the business and will play a crucial role in driving decision-making related to activities and campaigns while in market.

 

A day in the life of WVA’s Business Intelligence Data & Reporting Analyst includes:

The BI Data and Reporting Analyst is responsible for playing a lead role in:

  • organising data and
  • designing and building World Vision’s dashboards and reports. 

The Reporting Analyst will be:

  • World Vision’s power user of the business’ business intelligence tool (Power BI) and
  • responsible for the delivery of support, analysis, reporting and advice on the organisation’s data. 

While the role is based in the Performance & Planning Team and involves working alongside the team’s financial analysts to ensure consistency across the business in how data is used in the provision of analytical-insight, it also involves working very closely with the Technology Shared Services, Corporate Strategy, Private Funding, Marketing and Retail teams.

Representing the business, the Reporting Analyst will have strong relationships with these teams and will play a crucial role in translating business needs into technical requirements. 

Their knowledge and experience within a finance focused environment using BI tools, technical understanding and passion for data will ensure the business’ information needs are clearly defined and captured within a set of business performance dashboards and reports. 

From time to time, the Reporting Analyst may also be called upon to contribute to World Vision International global reporting initiatives.

 

Who are you?

  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar
  • Minimum 3 years specialised experience in an Analytics role ideally within a Service organisation and/or NGO 
  • Solid understanding of finance systems, financial reporting and accounting principals
  • Advanced experienced with using SQL Server for data analysis, modelling and reconciliation
  • Solid experience with database development including Views, Stored Procedures, query optimisation techniques, triggers and variables
  • Advanced experience building Power BI reports in sales, finance or fundraising environments
  • Superior communication, stakeholder management and relationship building skills
  • Experience leading initiatives/projects or have team leadership aspirations

This role is a 6 months Fixed-Term Contract operating in a full-time capacity and will be based at our head office in Burwood East, Victoria.
