The Opportunity to Make a Difference:

This position exists to provide operational and administrative support to our field programming teams running projects out Newman, Alice Springs and Derby. 

The Australia Program leverages 40 years of experience working here in Australia and our international programming expertise to support Indigenous Australians to lead their own development. We do this at the national level by engaging with government, and at a local level, by partnering with communities on a range of community development projects focussed around Education and Life Skills.

 

A day in the life of WVA’s Field Operations Administrator includes:

Reporting to the Field Operations Manager - Australia Program, you will provide a high level of administrative management and operational assistance to field teams including:

  • supporting the functioning of remote offices,
  • tracking and payment of field operational services and bills (e.g. accommodation, vehicle fleet management),
  • human resource management forms,
  • communications,
  • record & data management support,
  • credit card acquittals
  • travel booking as agreed and troubleshooting staff questions on operational compliance requirements for WVA

“Supporting a large community development team, remotely based, often requires juggling and negotiating priorities, responding to urgent requests, and helping people understand what is required to use WVA systems and processes.   Working as a team is key and it helps a lot to have a passion for the work we’re doing with Aboriginal communities”

 

Who are you?

  • Year 12 and/or vocational training relevant to a professional administrative role 
  • Experience in Administration / office management and coordination
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Scheduling, organising and a high attention to detail
  • Time management and the ability to respond quickly
  • Relational ability
  • Flexible and proactive mindset

This role is a permanent contract operating in a full-time capacity and will be based at our head office in Burwood East, Victoria.
