Reporting to the Senior Front-End Developer, you’ll have the opportunity to work on digital projects and applications that help make World Vision’s life-changing work in the field possible.


A day in the life of WVA’s Front-End Developer includes:

The Front-End Developer role exists to develop and maintain the visual elements across all of World Vision’s digital platforms, 3rd party applications or any other digital technologies in support of its broader digital strategy.

A typical day will see the holder of this position:

  • Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle including estimating and quoting, project kick-off meetings, workshops, brainstorms, development, documentation and testing
  • Write clean and well designed and structured code
  • Passion for best design and coding practices and a desire to develop new bold ideas
  • Performs code reviews and provides constructive feedback on approach, maintainability and best practices
  • Researches tools, processes and technology
  • Advises on technical feasibility and resource requirements
  • Promotes continual technical improvement and a culture of innovation, excellence and accountability
  • Proposes proactive ideas for future projects


Who are you?

As the ideal candidate you will possess:

  • A passion for front end web development and for the value in good web design/UX
  • Experience in developing responsive websites using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
  • Experience in a Web Development or equivalent role, using Content Management Systems
  • Good understanding and experience working with JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as VueJS or AngularJS/ReactJS
  • Knowledge of Responsive Design and its implementation across browsers and devices
  • Understanding of front-end frameworks including pre-processors and bundlers such as LESS, SASS, Webpack, NPM etc
  • Experience integrating with server-side code to produce dynamic web applications
  • Good understanding of web accessibility, browser compatibility and W3C standards with the ability to apply them
  • Experience working in cross functional Agile teams

This role is a permanent contract operating in a full-time capacity and will be based at our head office in Burwood East, Victoria.
