The Opportunity to Make a Difference:

An exciting opportunity - as Head of Talent for World Vision Australia (WVA) - exists for a suitably skilled Leader to take on this rewarding and challenging role focused on building World Vision Australia’s Talent function within the People & Culture Team.

 

A day in the life of WVA’s Head of Talent includes:

You will work closely with the People & Culture Leadership Team, the Executive Team and their Lead Teams to broaden and deepen WVA’s expertise in Talent Acquisition and Talent Development.

You will have responsibility for developing strategies that position WVA well now and into the future to acquire and develop a workforce of Changemakers.

This role provides strategic advice and leads the overall planning, directing and coordination of the Talent team and their core services and offerings to support the organisation’s growth through progressive Talent Acquisition and Development interventions.

The two key result areas will be as follows:

  • Responsible for leading strategic interventions across WVA to ensure that the organisation’s workforce planning and resourcing is optimised to enable to achieve its strategic imperatives. For that, you will:
    • Develop WVA’s understanding of the key market trends and insights in talent and resourcing,
    • Translate organisational needs into talent acquisition actions,
    • Manage third party recruitment agencies and staffing firms,
    • Review and develop marketing strategies/material to actively promote the WVA Career Site, and to market WVA as a great place to work,
    • Ensure WVA Recruitment Policy,
    • Develop WVA’s EVP.
  • Responsible for leading capability development programs across WVA to ensure all employees have the key capabilities to deliver on WVA’s strategic objectives.  For that, you will:
    • Implement the WVA Capability Framework approach and methodology,
    • Manage a learning prioritisation process,
    • Evaluate and ensure the effectiveness of the training programs,
    • Support the Chief P&C with Leadership Team development,
    • Manage a development program for all entry level managers,
    • Build and develop strategic relationships with other suppliers.

 

Who are you?

The successful applicant will possess the following experience and key capabilities:

  • Generalise HR background with a minimum 5 years in a Leader / Manager role
  • Proven track record of Talent Management solutions across a broad range of service areas (Talent Acquisition, Leadership and Capability Development, High Potential Identification & Development, Succession planning etc)
  • Previous experience in managing a Recruitment / Training and Development function
  • A track record of innovation in Talent Management (Acquisition & Development);
  • Articulating and championing a strategic programme of learning and development;
  • Ability to design, deliver and evaluate training, training plans and systems;
  • Experience delivering services across different sectors in a range of functional disciplines
  • Experience working in matrix structures and proven ability in engaging with senior (C-suite) stakeholders;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications & influencing skills;
  • Proven commercial acumen, strategic and operational business management;
  • Change management skills displaying sound judgement and ability to articulate well within a leadership team environment, navigating well through ambiguity.

 

What you need to know

This role is a permanent role operating in a full-time capacity (Part-time / 4 days can be considered) and will be based at our head office in Burwood East, Victoria.
