The Opportunity to Make a Difference:

This role exists to provide the Lead, Chief Financial Officer, and Chiefs for the business unit portfolios allocated (Field Impact & Corporate Affairs), with strategic insight that is gained through analysis and business knowledge in order to support strategy development, lead translation of strategy to plan and manage performance to achieve that plan.

 

A day in the life of WVA’s Head of Strategy Enablement and Performance includes:

The role is accountable day to day to support the Lead to effectively manage organisational and group level performance, to enable strategy achievement.

The role is also accountable to build capability within the organisation to improve performance and enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

The key accountabilities for this role are:

  • Inform strategy development to ensure it is data driven and aligned with Corporate strategy and manage strategic planning process to ensure achievement of strategy
  • Support achievement of strategy through effective financial planning and analysis, and enable allocation of  resources in line with objectives
  • Manage holistic performance (financial and non-financial) to plan and collaborate to identify and respond to risks and challenges
  • Develop capability, performance tools and processes necessary to improve financial performance and enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Partner and collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve business outcomes
  • Team management

 

Who are you?

The successful applicant will possess the following experience and key capabilities:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance or other relevant discipline.
  • Australian certified accountant (CPA or CA) desired
  • Proven track record of strategic & operational business management, and strategic planning methodology.
  • Audit background with a minimum 5 years in a Leader / Manager role
  • Previous experience in consulting function
  • Ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Understanding of the global agenda in international development, key trends and opportunities that impact the sector.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance environment for charities.
