Reporting the Country Impact Manager (Low Income Countries), we are seeking a Country Impact Officer (CIO) to play a role as an effective contract manager and ‘partnership broker’, communicating impact between Field Offices and WVA colleagues and supporters.

With the assistance of WVA’s Country Impact Managers, the CIO will contribute to, with a view to eventually lead, the management and reporting for area programs and grants (including potentially ANCP and humanitarian grants) within their geographic portfolio.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include, with support and supervision from CIMs:

  • Portfolio Management – design, evaluation & stand-up of grant projects and Area Programs, within a Very Low Developing Context, including compliance.
  • Relationship - managing relationship with Supporter and Partner Agencies, and Field Partners, including negotiation with the WV Partnership and brokering.
  • Quality and Timely Reporting - deliver timely and quality impact and financial reporting, including directly to institutional donors for grants and critical internal stakeholders (including the WVA Impact Hub).
  • Cross functional engagement to support WVA strategic priorities

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Program management experience, including the development and communication of results
  • Self-managed work experience, with ability to maintain focus and achieve outcomes under pressure
  • Account management or commercial experience in identifying or developing further opportunities
  • Grant management experience, ideally with a portfolio of grants
  • Demonstrated experience in developing successful partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience supporting training, resource development and capacity building
  • Understanding of the challenges of achieving a credible account of change in fragile, contested or restrictive environments
  • Understanding emerging models of partnering between NGOs and government/international organisations

This role is a permanent position operating in a full-time capacity and will be based in our office in Burwood East, Melbourne.
