The Position
World Vision Australia is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our team as the Head of Individual Philanthropy. Reporting to the Chief of Private Funding, you will lead and manage the individual philanthropy program, focusing on cultivating and securing major gifts from individual donors. This includes providing leadership, management, support, and strategic direction to the Individual Philanthropy Team in identifying or creating opportunities to engage with existing and new donors.

Key Responsibilities
- Create and execute strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors
- Build and maintain strong relationships with major donors, providing personalised engagement and recognition
- Contribute to organisation-wide donor initiatives related to Major Donors, Middle Donors, Wills and Bequests, and Trusts and Foundations.
- Develop and implement innovative fundraising campaigns and initiatives to attract new donors.
- Regularly collaborate with other teams to ensure synergies are realised and joint outcomes achieved
- Model effective leadership in line with WVA values as part of the Private Funding Team, both to staff and the wider organisation
- Oversee a team of prospect researchers to ensure effective identification and engagement of potential donors
- Achieve financial and non-financial targets on time and within budget, in accordance with established KPIs
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for new partnerships
- Utilise data analytics to track and report on donor engagement and fundraising performance
Who we’re looking for
You will be a seasoned leader with extensive fundraising experience. You are results driven and enjoy a fast paced dynamic environment.
You will have:
- Experience in major donor portfolio management &/or corporate sales/relationship management disciplines
- Management of sales / fundraising / account management teams
- Experience in developing and implementing moves management approaches
- Experience in liaising with senior management and decision makers
- Ability to create and implement long term fundraising strategies
- Stewardship and relationship building knowledge
- Knowledge of learning principles and modern training techniques
- Degree and/or equivalent experience in a related discipline
