The Opportunity to be a Changemaker

The Head of Schools & Youth Engagement is a pivotal new role at WVA and will be accountable for reinvigorating WVA’s offering to schools and youth organisations in Australia, working with them to equip the next generation of Australia’s leaders to be socially aware and leaders who advocate for the world’s most vulnerable.

As Head of Schools & Youth Engagement, you will build and grow intentional and co-ordinated relationships with schools and youth organisations to promote WVA’s work, demonstrate alignment with the school’s curriculum and foster strong partnerships that produce lifelong WVA advocates. This role has an incredible opportunity to achieve impact by bringing a careers’ wealth of knowledge about the Australian school sector to World Vision, developing strategic school relationships and mentoring team members to manage those relationships, and enabling WVA to find mutual benefit with their school partners.

Who are we looking for?

A career within the education industry, or similar, has given you a deep understanding of the Australian schooling system and how WVA’s work, both in the field and our advocacy, can connect into the Australian education landscape/curriculum. You can demonstrate experience in identifying, building and growing strategic partnerships and fostering key relationships for sustainable mutual benefit.

Experience leading medium to large teams of relationship managers is highly preferable and in this context you may lead an interstate team. Some of the other key pieces of selection criteria would include:

  • Strong knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing the education sector
  • Competent in Microsoft office, Confluence and Salesforce/equivalent CRM
  • Delivering a supporter experience that exceeds expectations and represents the WVA brand
  • Tertiary qualifications in business and/or education
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Building and leading effective, high performing teams
  • Strategic planning and financial management capability
