The Opportunity to lead a team of Changemakers
The purpose of this role is to continue the growth of this established World Vision Australia Social Enterprise: Little Things Café. The role is required to take full ownership of the café business and maintain the café with it’s vision of creating a food and coffee destination in Blackburn. The role is ultimately responsible for the daily operations and financial performance of the Little Things Café.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Menu planning and ordering;
- Day-to-day operational tasks;
- Staff management;
- Building and nurturing relationships with customers;
- Developing the functions/catering aspect of the business;
- Managing suppliers;
- Financial management, budgeting and POS handling.
The Little Things Café manager is a leader who has passion, enthusiasm and personality to manage all aspects of our social enterprise Café in the heart of Blackburn.
Your skills and experience will include:
- Demonstrated strong café management experience
- Passionate and knowledgeable about good food, beautiful coffee and in creating a café experience that sets apart from the local competition;
- Food handling and barista skills (note: this role is not the Head Barista but will be required to provide high levels of coffee machine cover)
- Highly developed communication skills and personal organization
- Self-motivation and an ambitious nature.
- Appreciation for community development and ethical trade
What you need to know
This role is a permanent position operating in full-time capacity and will be based at Little Thing Coffee in Blackburn, Victoria. We trade Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 3pm, and on Saturday from 8am to 3pm.
