The position

We are seeking a seasoned Strategy Manager to join our business and help us make real change in the world. This a newly created senior position which which will play a critical, consultative role in enabling  effective strategic management for World Vision Australia’s (WVA) Retail mass market portfolio.

You will become part of a committed and inclusive team culture working closely with key stakeholders across the organisation to ensure WVA is uniquely positioned in the retail mass market. Through development of strategic plans and execution of key initiatives, your role will enable World Vision to create sustainable advantage and deliver superior value to Australians who are engaged and empowered to create meaningful change.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include;

  • Take a lead role in supporting development of WVA’s future Retail Distribution Strategy and Mass Market opportunities
  • Enable and lead business owners across WVA’s Retail portfolio to make deliberate integrated set of choices on major intended and emergent initiatives across mass market channels include Retail, Third Party Fundraising, Digital, Contact Centres, Church, Schools and Youth Engagement. .
  • Assess market trends and opportunities to achieve WVA’s performance and fundraising targets
  • Leverage data and insights to drive strategic thinking on market opportunities to grow the retail business and respond to changing economic and market conditions.
  • Be able to take an idea and develop it into a strategic plan for business owners and programs.

Who we’re looking for 

In this newly created role, we are seeking someone who is ready and willing to see work they do make a significant change. You will be a highly motivated individual with strong business partnering and stakeholder skills, enabling you to work effectively with people at all levels in an organisation. We are after a highly skilled strategic and analytical professional with creative flair and proven experience in complex analytical problem solving, ideally within a consulting environment or mass market business.

You will also have:

  • Strong commercial acumen with a knack for uncovering opportunities that can be taken through from discovery to real financial outcomes
  • A degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or related field
  • Mid to senior level experience in marketing, finance, management consulting or strategic planning.
  • Ability to draw insights and make strategic recommendations for short-, medium- and long-term programs
  • Ability to manage & gain credibility with senior stakeholders and project teams both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated channel sales management and strategy
  • Exceptional written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Be a quick and creative thinker and understand retail sales and marketing environments.
