Manager, Impact Partnering and Programming  - AFNP 

World Vision Australia (WVA) is seeking an experienced and values-driven leader to guide a high-performing team dedicated to strengthening community-led development with First Nations partner organisations and communities. This role ensures evidence of change is captured, applied and communicated with integrity, while driving high-quality partnering and programming that supports First Nations peoples to lead their own development journeys. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and mentor a team of technical experts to ensure quality partnering and programming that aligns with WVA’s strategic priorities and First Nations-led development. 

  • Build partner capability through guidance, training and resources that support effective transition of long-term programming to First Nations organisations. 

  • Provide technical advice and oversight for program design, assessment, implementation and quality improvement across all Australian First Nations Program (AFNP) projects. 

  • Ensure strong application of best-practice methodologies, including the AFNP Strong Spirit Practice Framework, trauma-informed approaches and safeguarding standards. 

  • Support First Nations partner organisations with capability planning, learning materials, gap analysis and development of organisational and project strategy. 

  • Lead the collection, analysis and communication of impact data and evidence of change, ensuring alignment to AFNP and WVA monitoring and evaluation frameworks. 

  • Collaborate with internal teams to secure funding, strengthen strategic partnerships and utilise evidence for external engagement and strategy realisation. 

  • Build and nurture a high-performing, culturally informed technical team committed to long-term, community-led development and measurable impact. 

About You 

You bring: 

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Science, Community Development, Health or a related field (or equivalent experience). 

  • Extensive experience in community development, particularly within Australian First Nations contexts, including remote communities. 

  • Proven success in team leadership, coaching, technical guidance and capability building. 

  • Strong partnership development skills and deep understanding of sustainable development models. 

  • Insight into the cultural, social, political and economic factors impacting First Nations peoples. 

  • Knowledge of cross-cutting development themes including gender, environment, disability, safeguarding and peace-building.
