As the Finance Business Analyst, you will support the Head of Strategy Enablement & Performance through analysis and problem-solving to optimise strategy and plans and manage business unit performance.

This role seeks to understand the link between financial and non-financial metrics and works closely with other analysts to ensure a holistic view is being formed.

This role is expected to lead financial process improvement projects and is therefore required to bring a high degree of commercial acumen, problem solving, self-motivation and stakeholder management skills.

This is a Maximum Term contract role until June 2026

A day in the life of WVA’s Finance Business Analyst includes

  • development of performance reporting including drawing insights from data,
  • financial and non-financial analysis to drive discussion and decision making with senior leadership,
  • partnering with managers to support budget management and identifying continuous improvement opportunities,
  • input into strategy and planning processes and development of tools and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Who we’re looking for 

As the Finance Business Analyst, you demonstrate high commercial acumen, a service focus and an approach to processes and practices with a continuous improvement mindset.

The successful candidates will also possess the following skills, experience & qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance or other relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in budget management, strategic planning, financial and non-financial analysis
  • Stakeholder engagement at senior levels
  • Interpreting and presenting information and facilitating decision making processes
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
