As the Senior Category Marketing Specialist – Child Sponsorship, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and supporting the full life cycle of our Child Sponsorship product. You’ll work closely with the Category Marketing Manager to ensure the product remains compelling, impactful, and sustainable—both for our supporters and the children they help.

This is a cross-functional role that collaborates with Marketing, IT, Customer Service, and Field teams to enhance the supporter journey and ensure every sponsorship experience is heartfelt, data-informed, and aligned with our mission.

Due to the nature of the role and the regular engagement with World Vision International Offices/Projects/Private Donors, out of hours work may be required in this position.

Based in MEL or SYD

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and execution of marketing strategies for the Child Sponsorship product to drive growth, engagement, and donor retention.
  • Monitor performance metrics and market insights to inform data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with analytics teams to identify supporter trends and optimize supporter experiences.
  • Contribute to the development of targeted supporter journeys and integrated Go-To-Market strategies.
  • Develop and optimise sponsorship content aligned with supporter engagement goals and the organization’s mission.
  • Oversee the operational delivery and fulfilment of sponsorship commitments, ensuring timely and impactful donor communication.
  • Drive process improvements in sponsorship workflows for efficiency and scalability.
  • Provide thought leadership to enhance the relevance and competitiveness of the child sponsorship program.

Who we’re looking for 

With a data-informed mindset and a heart for impact, you will help ensure the Child Sponsorship product remains relevant, engaging, and operationally sound—delivering meaningful experiences to supporters while advancing the organisation’s mission.

You will have:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, category marketing, or related roles—preferably in the non-profit or social impact sector.
  • Leadership skills with a proven track record of mentoring teams and driving successful cross-functional collaboration.
  • Product lifecycle expertise, from ideation and development through to execution and optimization.
  • Strong capabilities in content creation and storytelling, with a focus on donor/supporter engagement.
  • Hands-on experience managing fulfilment operations, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of supporter commitments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience working across marketing, digital, customer service, and field teams.
  • Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to translate data insights into actionable marketing and product strategies.
  • A solid understanding of field operations, international development, or child sponsorship programs is highly desirable.
