Technical Acquisition Manager – Fragility & Innovations
World Vision Australia is seeking a passionate and experienced Technical Acquisition Manager – Fragility & Innovations to help deliver lasting change for the world’s most vulnerable children and communities. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team to secure high-priority funding opportunities that drives innovative solutions and build resilience in fragile contexts. You’ll shape program designs, forge strong partnerships, and contribute to ambitious growth across World Vision’s humanitarian and development work.
Key Accountabilities Area:
- Drive Business Development: Lead the development and execution of funding strategies with institutional donors (e.g., Australian Government, multilateral and bilateral agencies), impact investors, and the private sector.
- Lead Proposal Development: Oversee the design and submission of high-quality proposals, tenders, grants, reports, and donor communications.
- Foster Innovation: Refine project models using lessons learned, emerging technologies, and global best practices.
- Strengthen Partnerships: Build collaboration with World Vision offices, INGOs, research organisations, and think tanks to enhance credibility and reach.
- Support Implementation: Provide technical oversight, mentoring, and capacity building across program design, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Align Strategy: Ensure programs reflect donor priorities and market trends through effective cross-functional coordination
Who we’re looking for
As the successful applicant, you will bring strong business development experience, with a proven track record of securing funds from both domestic and international investors and donors. Your can-do attitude and adaptability will be key in driving success in complex situations.

- Proven Business Development Expertise: Strong track record of securing funding from domestic and international donors and investors.
- Strategic Mindset: Deep understanding of humanitarian challenges, community-led development, and climate change.
- Program Innovation: Experience designing and implementing innovative programs in fragile or complex settings.
- Partnership Skills: Knowledge of emerging partnership models between NGOs, governments, and international organisations.
- Project Leadership: Skilled in project and contract management, including commercial negotiations.
- Communication Strength: Excellent written and verbal communication, with confidence to present, influence, and build relationships.
- Collaborative Approach: Ability to work across diverse teams, align stakeholders, and drive results.
