Purpose
Lead the project management of a portfolio of grants in a geographic sector, acting to connect donors to our field impact and foster relationships with country offices to achieve quality grant implementation.
Key accountabilities include:
- Establishing a platform for enhanced engagement with DFAT, other donors, partner agencies, and other relevant supporters such as corporates and major donors
- Regular monitoring of field programmatic and financial reporting, with accountability for following up to address issues and build capacity as required
- Collaboration with key internal stakeholders including counterpart Grant Managers within Program Management and Portfolio Advisors within Field Engagement for effective grant management and coordinated engagement with National Offices
- Leading or contributing, as required, to the coordination of an aspect of WVA’s overall ANCP Portfolio management
- Timely and quality submission of all internal and external reporting, including Annual Development Plans, performance and financial reporting, ensuring that reports both meet & where possible, exceed supporter expectations & WVA standards
- WVA is professionally represented and demonstrates appropriate leadership and collaboration amongst the network of various partners
- Contribution to the development and refinement of key grant management processes, tools and resources, including, as appropriate, for the ANCP portfolio
- Deliver growth within the portfolio by working with WVA’s Grant Acquisition team to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities within the portfolio
Who we’re looking for
The ideal candidate will have a breadth of capabilities, including great interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders and lead through influence and collaboration.
You will also have:
- Program and project management skills, including an understanding of contracting and contract management as well as risk management
- Significant complex grant management experience, ideally with a portfolio of grants
- Program management experience, including the development and communication of results
- Account management or commercial experience in identifying or developing further opportunities
- An understanding of procurement or grants structures and processes of the Australian Government, public service, and/or other international organisations. Knowledge of DFAT and the requirements of the ANCP Program is helpful
- Understanding emerging models of partnering between NGOs and government/international organisations
- Ability to work in fragile, contested or restrictive environments
- Cultural diversity and demonstrating sensitivity in interactions with field staff and communities
- Relevant tertiary qualifications: these may include Business/Marketing, International Relations/International Development, or a relevant technical field
