Contract Manager – Papua New Guinea

Make a lasting impact through global health and community development.
World Vision Australia is seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Contract Manager to oversee a portfolio of international development programs—supporting communities across Papua New Guinea and contributing to improved health outcomes for vulnerable children and families.
The Opportunity
As a Contract Manager, you’ll lead all aspects of grant and contract management across a diverse portfolio of programs, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest quality, on time, and within budget. Working collaboratively with the World Vision Papua New Guinea Field Office, implementing partners, and key internal teams, you’ll strengthen relationships with institutional donors, including DFAT and the Global Fund, as well as managing contractors, while ensuring strong compliance and contract management standards.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic international environment, excels in stakeholder engagement, and is passionate about contributing to sustainable global health and community development outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support the implementation of grants and contracts in collaboration with the World Vision Field Office and partners across Papua New Guinea.
- Lead on contract compliance, performance monitoring, risk management, and financial oversight.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with donors, partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure high-quality project delivery.
- Contribute to funding growth by supporting proposal development, project design, and donor engagement.
- Provide timely and high-quality narrative and financial reporting to institutional and private donors.
- Support and promote collaboration, capacity-building, and learning between Field Offices, Regional Office, implementing partners, and internal teams.
About You
You are an experienced contract or grants manager with a track record in international development or global health programs. You bring strong relationship management skills, attention to detail, and a service-oriented mindset. You thrive on collaboration, can balance multiple priorities and demands, and bring a calm, solutions-focused approach to complex challenges.
You will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in International Development/International Relations, Global/Public Health, Project Management, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex grants or contracts in international development, ideally within the Pacific or in fragile contexts.
- Experience supporting TB/HIV programs or other global health-related initiatives in community-based settings. Experience working with Global Fund grants or working with National Departments of Health would be advantageous.
- Understanding of donor requirements (e.g., DFAT, Global Fund) and experience in compliance and reporting.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work across cultures and geographies.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (5–20%).
