The Position

Support the Early and Middle Childhood Partnering and Programming Manager and Youth Partnering and Programming Manager to successfully implement the early childhood, middle childhood and youth technical program. The role includes effectively monitoring and evaluating our work and reporting impact to donors.

Additionally, this role will also support other Impact Partnering and Programming (IPP) initiatives as directed by the Impact Partnering & Programming Manager.

The goal of our Australia First Nations Program (AFNP) is to empower First Nations people and organisations to lead their own development. AFNP delivers a range of impactful programs in partnership with First Nations communities and partner organisations, including Early Childhood Care and Development; Unlock Literacy; Young Mob; IMPACT Club; and Channels of Hope for Gender programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the co-design, adaptation, implementation, transition and monitoring of technical programming for children, youth and families, including relevant project models in alignment with our AFNP strategy
  • Support and coordinate partner organisations and AFNP partnering and project model specialists to produce consistent, timely, high-quality data and reporting progress and impact
  • Support partners to contribute to strengthening the evidence base for their work and project models working collaboratively with First Nations partners and AFN Program Managers to adapt the learning roots and unlock literacy models to local contexts
  • Collate and analyse project data (including our work with First Nations partners) to provide reports on program impact to various internal and external stakeholders and supporters
  • Provide support and co-facilitation where appropriate for sector specific training under the guidance of the Partnering and Programming Managers e.g 3a Practitioner training in remote First Nations communities
  • Assist the IPP team with community development, regional planning, partnering and First Nations organisation capability development planning as directed
  • Contract management in accordance with WVA policies and procedures, including managing contract reporting deadlines
  • Team administration and logistics support, including event management for small sized events, e.g face-to-face study trips and online learning forums
  • Undertake program resource development, including developing creative resources such as newsletters and posters for AFNP programs
  • Ensure compliance with WVA Child and Adult Safeguarding policies and practices

Who we’re looking for 

We are looking for someone who is driven, flexible and adaptable to support project teams. You will have strong communication and reporting skills and be results orientated.

You will also have:

  • Experience in project management, including contract management
  • Understanding of First Nations community contexts and organisational challenges across Australia
  • Community development programming with First Nations organisations, large NGOs, government agencies, communities, organisations peoples from diverse cultures and disadvantaged communities
  • Program design, monitoring and implementation experience
  • Program resource development experience
  • Experience in data gathering, analysis and sense-making
  • Tertiary qualifications in community development, social science, program management or other relevant qualifications
