The position
The Manager of the Asia/Southern Africa Contracts Team at World Vision Australia oversees the management and reporting of international development contracts and privately funded projects for World Vision Australia (WVA).
This role involves leading a team of Contract Managers to ensure high-quality contract implementation that benefits children and communities. Additionally, the Manager collaborates with various internal and external stakeholders to support WVA's corporate strategy goals and assists in pursuing new contract opportunities. The position also requires maintaining productive relationships with World Vision Regional and Field Offices.
Your role plays an integral part in the organisation, tackling global issues and supporting our mission to empower Australians to create meaningful change for the world’s most vulnerable.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure high-quality contract delivery in line with World Vision (WV) and donor standards. Oversee all project contracts in the Asia/Southern Africa portfolio, ensuring compliance and understanding of contractual obligations.
- Support contract managers in monitoring compliance with WV and DFAT policies, including safeguarding, counter-terrorism financing, and fraud.
- Maintain constructive relationships with senior leadership at regional and field office levels to support contract management and implementation.
- Participate in audit and regulatory processes to enhance program quality and compliance.
- Contribute to acquisition processes and strategic planning as a member of the leadership team.
- Lead and foster a culture of trust, learning, and innovation. Set and monitor annual team objectives aligned with WVA strategy. Ensure team members have opportunities for personal and professional development.
- Support contract portfolio growth and provide technical support for high-priority events and donor engagements.
- Validate information for external reporting, branding, and promotional materials related to the Asia/Southern Africa programming portfolio.
This role is crucial for ensuring the successful implementation and compliance of contracts, fostering strong relationships, and contributing to the strategic goals of WVA.

You will have:
- Proven experience managing small to medium highly skilled professional teams.
- Expertise in complex contract management, including in developing countries coupled with a strong understanding of the international aid landscape and key donors.
- Proficient in project management methodologies and theory.
- Experience building productive relationships with organisations in developing countries.
- Knowledge of contract/grant structures and processes of the Australian Government, European Commission, and other international institutions with demonstrated experience managing grants, contracts, and privately funded programs.
- Ability to meet the unique needs of government and multilateral donors in international development.
- Skilled in financial and management reporting, and business planning.
- Bachelor degree in International Development or Humanitarian related discipline.
