The position

This role is responsible for the day-to-day coaching and leadership of fundraising acquisition (sales) teams to ensure they have the right behaviours to achieve the desired results. As a Team Leader, you will be playing a crucial role in helping WVA’s goal. You will be leading by example and will be responsible for motivating, retaining and developing our face-to-face fundraisers. You will achieve fundraising targets through effective team management and brand awareness.

You will be advocating for the world’s most vulnerable children and sharing the lasting impact our Child Sponsorship program has to everyday Australians.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Overseeing face-to-face fundraising campaigns
  • Coordinate logistics, including scheduling, locations, and team assignments
  • Monitor performance and adjust strategies as needed to assist Retail Activations Team Manager in long term planning
  • Execution of activity across retail sales channels including flexible working hours (late-night/weekend/public holidays/Christmas- trading period)
  • Ensure high-quality interactions with potential donors
  • Train team members on effective fundraising techniques
  • Monitor compliance with ethical standards and organizational guidelines
  • Set and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the team
  • Supporting the Operations teams to attract, hire and position promoters through involvement in recruitment events and undertaking rostering actions

This role will require the use of a personal vehicle (with a provided car allowance) for Bump-in Bump-out activities.

Who we’re looking for 

As the successful applicant, you will have Face-to-Face fundraising experience. You will possess excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with a strong grasp of coaching and mentoring principles. You will have an energetic and passionate approach with a love of engaging with people.

The hours of work for this role are in accordance with Retail and Event operational hours and you will need to be available to work some of your ordinary work hours on weekends and outside standard business hours.

You will have:

  • Outstanding presentation skills with a proven track record of presenting across a variety of audiences
  • Prior experience in a similar position, ideally in fundraising or sales of at least 12 months
  • Proven success in leading sales team to achieve targets and KPIs
  • People and performance management skills
  • Proven ability to manage change, lead teams, coach individuals and inspire others
  • High competency in computer and software use
  • Valid Australian Drivers License
