The Position

Supports the acquisition and implementation of high-quality programs across World Vision Australia, ensuring impactful outcomes that align with donor priorities, Corporate Strategy and field office goals to drive meaningful change in the communities we serve.

Success in this role requires close collaboration with internal teams—including acquisition specialists, program management and contracts, corporate affairs, child sponsorship, private funding and other sector technical advisors—as well as other World Vision offices, donors and external partners.

Your areas of responsibility will include:

  • Under the guidance of the GEDSI Manager, support Acquisition Management and Private Funding teams on potential bids including providing technical and strategic insights and design support, and participate in pre-positioning efforts, as required
  • Collaborate with World Vision offices, national and multilateral entities, research institutions, and think tanks to support GEDSI program innovation and credibility as required
  • Provide technical writing and editing support for Go/No-Go funding decisions, funding proposals including grants, tenders, and high-quality project designs and related documents (i.e., logical frameworks, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, theories of change, and narrative documents) ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with GEDSI trends, policy requirements and donor expectations
  • Support development of donor briefs and collection of data for pipeline and performance reporting purposes
  • Support the iteration and improvement of World Vision project models and programming approaches in response to best practices and lessons learned from field implementation, as well as emerging ideas, trends, new technologies, digital solutions, cross-cutting themes and developments from donors, industry and academia
  • Develop and maintain credible and trusted relationships with relevant World Vision donors, implementation and field office teams and partners
  • Support GEDSI Manager in maintaining and implementing World Vision Australia’s GEDSI policies, and participation World Vision International’s various GEDSI forums
  • Support the implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting of selected projects/programs by providing technical oversight, advice, training and mentorship

Who we are looking for…

You will have experience in supporting GEDSI project design and implementation and strong experience in disability would be highly desired.

You will have:

  • Understanding of key challenges in responding to humanitarian challenges and appreciation of community-led development approaches
  • Understanding working with funding and grant structures and processes of the Australian Government and/or other international organisations
  • Experience in knowledge sharing and capacity building
  • Experience in a program development/business development
  • Understanding of donor landscape and key partners in area of expertise
  • Experience managing and working with contractors, research institutes and universities
  • Ability to appropriately interpret, and apply research and evaluation activities
  • Self-managed work experience, with ability to maintain focus and achieve outcomes under pressure
  • Degree or equivalent in gender, women’s studies, disability inclusivity, social sciences, international development or other development-related fields
