Lead the future of AI at World Vision Australia

At World Vision Australia, we're harnessing the power of technology to create greater impact for children and communities worldwide. We're seeking an experienced AI Transformation Lead to establish and drive our enterprise AI transformation agenda, helping us unlock value responsibly, ethically and at scale.

This is a unique opportunity to lead the development of our enterprise AI strategy, governance framework and adoption roadmap while delivering high-impact AI initiatives that improve the way we work and serve others.

About the role

As the AI Transformation Lead, you will establish and coordinate AI enablement across the organisation, working closely with leaders across Technology, Data, Risk, Privacy, Legal, Finance and People & Culture to ensure responsible and sustainable AI adoption.

You'll combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, leading selected AI-enabled transformation initiatives from discovery through to implementation, adoption and transition into business-as-usual operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver an enterprise AI strategy and roadmap aligned with organisational priorities.
  • Establish governance frameworks, decision-making processes and prioritisation criteria.
  • Advise senior leaders on AI opportunities, risks, ethics and investment decisions.
  • Maintain an enterprise opportunity funnel and work with business owners to define problems, establish baselines, quantify potential value and test whether AI is the appropriate response.
  • Recommend priorities, sequencing, delivery approach and investment through enterprise governance, routing lower-risk adoption to business teams and deferring or stopping work that does not justify central transformation capacity.
  • Lead the discovery, design and implementation of selected AI-enabled transformations with clear business ownership, expected value, measures, controls and transition criteria.
  • Lead cross-functional process redesign and work with Technology, Data, vendors and business teams to prototype, configure, test and implement approved AI-enabled solutions.
  • Develop responsible AI principles, policies and decision frameworks.
  • Coordinate proportionate assessment and controls covering human oversight, transparency, fairness, privacy, security, intellectual property, records, safeguarding, vendor risk and incident response.
  • Monitor emerging AI trends, regulations and best practice.
  • Establish AI learning programs, communities of practice and champion networks.
  • Create practical playbooks, templates and tools that support safe business-led adoption.
  • Measure outcomes including adoption, productivity improvements and value creation.

About you

You are a strategic and commercially minded AI leader who can bridge business and technology while influencing across complex stakeholder groups.

You'll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience shaping enterprise AI strategies and operating models.
  • Hands-on experience leading material generative AI, copilot, agent, automation or other AI-enabled use cases from discovery through adoption and transition.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI, including ethics, bias, transparency, privacy, security, intellectual property, data governance, human oversight, safeguarding and emerging regulation.
  • Experience working with Technology and Data teams on solution options, integration, evaluation, reliability and technical risk without duplicating their accountabilities.
  • Strong business analysis, process improvement and organisational change capabilities.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with experience influencing senior executives.
  • Relevant qualifications in AI, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
