The position

.Provide support to the West Kimberley Youth Development project in Derby and surrounding communities. In this role you will ultimately lead and facilitate the Impact Clubs and support the ongoing development of IMPACT clubs with young people, WVA project facilitators, elders, schools and First Nations organisations in Derby and Mowanjum.

 In addition to this you will:

  • Support the identification and registration of young people to participate in Impact Clubs
  • Facilitate Impact Club Meetings on a weekly basis, supporting young people to choose, plan and conduct projects with their community
  • Assist young people to identify and engage community members and organizations to support community learning projects
  • Plan and facilitate a learning and reflection meeting once every three months to evaluate the community learning projects achievements, using the IMPACT and SKYE program’s evaluation meeting structure
  • Work with the Senior Facilitator, young people, community elders and leaders to adapt IMPACT learning materials to the Western Kimberley context
  • Participate in training sessions to increase knowledge and skills in youth development
  • Track and record monitoring data on a weekly basis for all playgroups

Who we’re looking for 

We are looking for someone with experience in facilitating, mentoring, training, coaching, supervising or teaching young people.

  • The ability to support young people to identify strengths and abilities and achieve individual and group learning goals

  • The ability to be a good leader and role model for young people in their community
  • Current WA Drivers License
