Position

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Desktop Support Technician to join our team at World Vision.  Based at our Australian head office in Burwood East, you will provide both onsite and remote support to WVA staff throughout Australia. As the Desktop Support Technician, you are responsible for providing Desktop Support & Troubleshooting for PCs, mobile devices, and peripherals as well as business applications for our internal staff.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide 1st & 2nd level technical support for desktop, laptop and mobile devices, Windows operating system and applications (incl. Outlook, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Microsoft Intune and Dynamics 365, Computer peripherals and printers
  • Manage customer expectations through effective prioritisation and communication
  • Provide 1st & 2nd level application support across the business portfolio
  • Contributions to continuous process and service improvement, technical procedures and user documentation
  • Assistance with IT improvement project tasks (as requested)
  • Carrying out backup tape rotations, restores and Infrastructure environment operational tasks

Who we’re looking for 

The ideal candidate is an experienced Desktop Support Technician with an excellent communication skills and a passion for customer service. Skills and experience include:

  • Previously worked in a customer-focused role supporting Microsoft Windows 10 /11 and Microsoft Office 365 in the Enterprise
  • Experience with IT Service Management Tools (e.g. ServiceNow)
  • Experience with desktop deployment and software management tools (e.g. SCCM)
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills of Windows PCs, software and mobile devices in a Local and Wide Area Network
  • Basic understanding of ITIL processes
  • Experience with Active Directory, Azure AD, DNS & DHCP, and Office365.
  • Experience with SharePoint Online, Microsoft Intune, and Dynamics 365 is highly regarded.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related discipline
