Who we are looking for…

The Schools Engagement Lead is a pivotal new role at WVA and will be accountable for reinvigorating WVA’s offering to schools in Australia. Working with them to equip the next generation of Australia’s leaders to be socially aware and leaders who advocate for the world’s most vulnerable. The ideal Candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in the Education or similar industry with a strong understanding of the Australian Schools Curriculum.  You will be passionate about social & environmental issues globally and locally and will use this passion & knowledge to create an education program that is engaging for both students and teachers. 

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Developing innovative ways to engage with high schools, students, teachers and principals Across Australia that promote WVA’s work and build meaningful long-term relationships
  • Implement fundraising projects/programs to be reoccurring through curriculum in Schools
  • Forming partnerships with schools, students, teachers and principals that excite and empower them to be Change Makers for WVA
  • Creating opportunities for students to gain awareness and build skills that enable them to make a difference in their local community and future life 

Key skills required:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in the education or similar industry
  • Strong understanding of the Australian school’s curriculum
  • Strong knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing the education sector
  • Competent in MS Office
  • Confluence & Salesforce or other CRM desirable
  • Relationship management and influencing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including public speaking
  • Internal and external client facing skills, business development

What you need to know…

This role is a fixed term contract for 12 months operating in a part-time capacity (3-4 days per week) and will be based at our head office in Burwood East, Victoria/State office.  Although please note, due to the current COVID situation, all staff are working from home until further notice.

For your information, the interviews will start immediately, and the role may be filled before the closing date
